Friday, March 14, 2008   Stephen Colbert Pokes Fun at Drug Policy Reform Earlier this week, DPA's executive director, Ethan Nadelmann, was featured on The Colbert Report in a segment called Better Know a Lobby. My favorite quote from Colbert : "On the day you think you might win your little battle of freeing all these criminals from jail, please just give me a two week warning so I can build a panic room in my house for when your drug-addled zombies take to the streets ruling the night and feasting on human flesh." One, I love any reference to Night of the Living Dead and the countless movies about the undead it spawned, and two, isn't this exactly the kind of Mukasey-type fear mongering legislators like to use to stir up opposition to sentencing reform efforts, like eradicating the crack/powder disparity.
